Ruth Proctor:
Empty Ground
In
Empty Ground Ruth Proctor investigates the use of language
as code and it’s relationship to the visual. Using semaphore flags
usually associated with traditions of the sea and for conveying
information at a distance, the work describes a fragmented conversation
between participants through physical movement and repetition in which
meaning and image blur; action unravels in front of the audience as
sentences translated via subtitling as if a foreign language film or a
slowly moving track of a karaoke machine.
Laura Wilson
Wilson presents a new performance developing ideas surrounding the
realtionships between the pysical possibilities of light, film and space
transforming the gallery space simultaneously into both projector and
screen.
Marcus Orlandi
Orlandi's new work is a theatrical meditation on temporality of film,
the futility of preservation and a celebration of the absurdity of
everyday existence. At once a performance work and film piece, Orlandi's
work directly addresses the conections between screen and physical
space.
